Renard Hurns is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of Hurns Holding Company, Incorporated, and Senior Engineer of partnering company Firm Foundation A & E Consultants, a high-level service firm specializing in architectural and engineering construction design. He has been specializing in architectural as well as civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design work for various Commercial, Industrial, and Residential projects throughout the Southeastern United States since the early 2000s. Included in this list of projects are complete architectural, engineering, and construction of custom built homes, churches, restaurants, gas stations, and various other commercial facilities. In his various roles with the company, He has successfully performed such tasks as Project Estimating, Project Scheduling, Project Managing, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Design, and Administrative Operations. He has more than twenty years of experience in construction design and management. He was Plant Engineering Manager for Owens-Brockway’s Glass Container Atlanta Georgia manufacturing plant (a subsidiary of Owens – Illinois Inc.). He successfully served this company in the Atlanta facility for more than ten years (from mid 1990 to 2001), five of which he served as the facility’s Plant Engineer (Engineering Manager). While in this position, he successfully managed and coordinated several multi-million dollar capital projects, which ranged from 4 to 25 million dollars. Technology upgrades under He tenure allowed the facility to increase productivity potential by more than 30 percent while decreasing staffing by more than 50 percent. Because of its “fire power”, the Atlanta facility became known as the world’s largest single service glass bottle manufacturing facility at that time. Additional responsibilities for He included managing the plant engineering department’s budget, providing personnel administration, direct supervisory control over key division personnel as well as providing oversight towards the design, upgrade, installation and maintenance of many of the plant’s high tech mission critical systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Tuskegee University.
